I’ve been in Singapore for a quite a while now, and I’ve had friends over from Pakistan about 2 or 3 times, yet I still hadn’t managed to discover as many places as I did when one of my friend’s sister was over. Maybe because she had quite an amount of energy to drag me about everywhere she could. This obviously is a great experience for me, and I hope it was better for her.

About a day before Christmas, Zohra reached Singapore at about 8pm, I thought I’d go and catch her at the airport, turns out she had already left for her hotel in a cab, and there I was standing at the Airport cursing at myself.

Anyways I called her up and told her I’d meet her at the hotel, and then I took the MRT and went over to her hotel, which by the way wasn’t very familiar to me, maybe because I was lucky enough to have a place to live when I came crashing to Singapore, so obviously being an owner of an iPhone 3G, I flipped out my phone and navigated to that place using the super awesome Google Maps, I just wished I had a 3GS, would’ve made finding the hotel a breeze, oh and did I mention it was right next to “The Cathay” but since I didn’t know I got off a station away and walked to that place.

Anyways, once I was there, and I met her, we decided to hit the streets and catch a movie, since Christmas was next day I thought it’d be better to catch Orchard Road later and see some other stuff instead. So I took her to “The Cathay” to book our tickets to ‘Avatar’, and it was about 45 minutes before the movie would start we headed for Plaza Singapura, where I bought Paras her gift. When we headed out of the mall, Zohra seemed to have seen lights for the first time in her life obvioulsy she has seen Eid Milad-un-Nabi before.. Jokes aside these lights were kind of pretty and alot of things nicer from the back than from the front. They were lighted up from both sides.

Anyways after quite an amount of snapping and begging I finally got her on her feet and dragged her to the MRT since she wanted to expereince that too, so I took her two stations ahead and back so that we don’t miss the movie, oh and about the movie, we saw it in 3d which was a different experience for her.

So the movie wasn’t a short one and we kind of got off late from there, and we were hungry like anything, and she thought I would like some pickle with the food and I thought the same about her. Truth is neither of us were really concerned about it but I didn’t know that and neither did she, so we walked from “The Cathay” to Mustafa Centre at about 3 am.. yes 3 am.. got the pickles and some other stuff, and then got a cab back to her hotel and had some food. At about 6 am I left her to head home and snooze..

Then it was Christmas, even though our plan was to meet early and head off for Sentosa wagera and then see some other stuff before hitting Orchard, turns out we met at around 4pm, and then headed off for Orchard after a little lunch. I realized how much she enjoyed lights here. Kind of snapped everything she could, a sales girl selling some tiny clip caps, which I bought for her, a kid who wanted to take her picture, me as I borrowed a Santa cap from girl near by and pretended to do the yoga thing. The performances there for the Christmas was awesomely amazing, had one been there, they would’ve loved it

Since we were hungry I thought I’ll take her to Al-ameen, which is a funny thing in itself.. I ordered Palak Paneer, which she ordered ‘Nasi Lemak Ayam’ which is basically Plain Rice with chicken, but when it’s served they come with some nuts, a sauce and anchovies.. Now any sane person usually stays away from Anchovies atleast in the desi land, and after these are fried they look more like golden brown fried onions, and thats what she thought until she discovered the fish’s eyes… Yes these things are super tiny Anyways after the food we bid farewell till the next day.

The next day I woke up with her calling me, and asking for the plan, the plan again was Sentosa and stuff, but turns out she had to move stuff from her hotel to a paying guest place, so I headed over to her hotel, grabbed her stuff and headed to her paying guest place, I can tell you one thing for sure, that aunt probably is a murderer just kidding, I m sure she’s a wonderful woman, just looks angry

Anyways she dumped her stuff there, and we moved and went Vivo city at Harbour Front, where she bought quite a few chocolates, and looked at the other awesome stuff, drooled over clothing and shoes, saw some decoration pieces and fell in love with them. Aarghh I had to drag her again, this time we saw some performers at the mall and she immediately flipped out her DSLR and captured a bunch of stuff. We then headed for some other place… blah blah, and at the end since wanted to use some stuff which one of my house mates had, we were back at my place, where she used my room for the night, and I was kicked out of my room haha.. the couch can be a great savior I tell you.

The next day we finally went for Sentosa, but kindof missed the whole thing, the snow city, the science park, where she went crazy with photographs, sadly we lost some stuff too, which I think was very close to her. Oh and did I mention she did the reverse bungee with her eyes closed.. haha.. who does bungee with eyes closed

She stayed the night to my place again, since she forgot the keys at my place, and it was too late, infact we did go to her place only to realize the keys were missing. So we went back, backed up images, which are uploading for her, damn they account for some 7.5 GB :O and then went to sleep. woke her up at 6am, thats when she left for the guest house, so she could fly to Malaysia.

She’s been calling me since she went to Malaysia to ask for random things, and telling me about the infections she got at Langkavi.. girl take care of your health! Please.

Anyways the Christmas weekend for me was really exhausting, but it’s the best weekend I ever had in Singapore yet. So far nothing has beaten that, and yes I would miss her. Had been a great company.

Let’s do a little recap here.. shall we.

I went to Pakistan recently, and had a good time, which included the Tweet up, which I didn’t quite write about. It was one of the best things I attended in Pakistan since the Bloggers meet up. I met some more people, some really awesome ones, took really crazy (birdie poop) pictures, and socialized.

I also got to hang out with awesome folks there the same day (Anum Vighio, Imran Hassan, Umair Khan Jadoon, Taimoor, Sana Saleem, Aly B, Haris Nadeem, Enk, Byte Connector, Ayesha, Salman.. did I miss anyone ?)

Anyways, a few days later, infact the day I had to fly I also pulled out enough time to do a mini interview for CIO Pakistan, I felt good I did that

Anyways once back in Singaland, I had to finish up loads of work that piled up sometime last week, I stayed 3 days at office just to finish up work …. shweeeeeepp…. forward to yesterday.

We went out for fireworks wagera since it was National day here, but sadly reached too late.. anyways I ditched Hamaad and Saad, and went for Reverse Bungi which I enjoyed greatly, really really greatly Had food later, and celebrated Fraz’s birthday.

Also I m still up and haven’t slept yet, and it’s about 7 effin AM… gotta hit the sack now.. later.

Hey.. so the last few weeks have been really really busy for me. In terms of activities, work, people and everything else in between or otherwise.

Just by the time Zulfiqar’s parent’s were back in Singapore, I had to fly out to Karachi, my cousin’s wedding was coming up, with a shit load of work on my plate. I completed some bits of it, and ten flew to Pakistan. After quite some months experiencing the power outage was kinda fun. Not only did I get to meet my friends, I attended a Tweet up (pictures), and appeared at CIO Pakistan for an interview.

The wedding for which I actually went there went pretty well. It was mostly a surprize for my relatives since I had told them I wont be able to make it, infact one of my cousin was really pissed at me, and called me the day I was flying, little did she know I was about to head for Karachi in a few hours They were nothing less than shocked & surprized (Mission accomplished).

Anyways, I had fun there with lots of stuff, my family and all though were a little angry that I spent less time with them, I hope I get to spend more time with them the next time.

Also on my way back to Singapore, it was the first time I slept on flights, maybe because I hadn’t had rest lately.

As soon as I was back I was smacked in my face with pending work, which I m finishing up.

Also as it’s in the spirit of the month. It’s the independence day of both countries I m linked to. Singapore on the 8th, Pakistan on the 14th God bless.

I m writing this post a few days after by birthday, which I had on the 22nd of April, and why was is this a late post, because I was occupied by by quite some stuff.

The 22nd of April, even though was my birthday, it isn’t that much of a special day, it’s like the norm. I mean I grew a year older, one more year for being alive. Thank you everyone who called, emailed, messaged me a birthday wish.

I’ve also been occupied by the cricket game we’re building, and I m pretty sure it’s going to knock your socks off. I just got started with the animations part, I m hoping it gets interesting for me to develop and for you to play..

Recently when Adobe Flash CS4 launched, they added up some really good features to it, one such tool they added is called ‘the bone tool’, what does it do ? see here.

Also I had a word with my family lately, and I got to know that my mom’s friend’s parents passed away, please pray for them, may their souls rest in peace. Ameen.

Anyways, I m gonna cut this post short, it’s freakin 5:11 am here, I need to sleep a bit. Ciao.

Above is the new desktop background that I made recently honouring Ernesto Che Guevara.

I’ve been hearing alot about him in my office recently and obviously one of the songs which is a tribute to him, so anyhow I thought what the hell I can give a little tribute to the him myself, hence this wallpaper was born. This is the song that’s been playing in my office: Carlo Puebla – Hasta siempre comandante Che G. You can find a couple of more versions of the song here.

Anyways, since I have a habbit of writing of about more than just one thing in a blog post, so I’ll do just that. I’ve also been teaching  a bit of CSS (Casading Style Sheets) to one of my very close friends, not only just a close friend, he’s actually my best friend, yeah I m talking about Asim. 

I also had to go visit Uzey yesterday, but I was kind of stuck in bed snoozing so I missed it, obviously she was a little pissed at it.

Oh and I’ve not to been having any blogger conversations sadly. Will try to do one soon Inshallah.

It’s not the best days of my life right now. Stuck in the kind of odd days that wants me that I spend sometime with the people I love, and like. I m suffering from Bell’s Palsy, which is a paralysis of cranial nerve VII.

I m still going through this phase and would like to thank a few people who’re supporting me through the time, First obviously Allah who’s given me the power to stand this time, and then my parents and sister, I have awesome friends who’re alwasy here to help me, since I dont quite say thanks to the best of my friends I’d just name them.. Asim, Kamran, Fahad, Hassan, Raheel, Zair and all the people from my current work place (Ahmer, Saad, Immad, Balach, Salman)… From the people I know mostly online, I’d like to thank Abdullah, Imran, Haris, Saad and specially Ramla. Obviously I’d also like to thank my relatives for their concerns..

I know I cannot thank you folks enough, but thanks for being here for me, always.

I m hoping to get back on the groove and start annoying everyone again.

It’s actually been like a week since I dropped in Dubai, but I didn’t get the time to write something, I know that may some of you off, but apology is all I can offer right now !

Any how, I flew here to assist a company “Illusio” in their design department, and it’s been a good ride so far.

I didn’t get to meet all my relatives in this time period, even though I met some of them, today again, I’ll be out visitng some of my relatives, because while I m living here, I might need their attention and they might need mine, so it’s good to keep up with them.

As for me being here, right now it’s going to be a short term, ut probably stretch to full scale soon.

Then this company Illusio, has finally given me a mac to work with, my last work space had all PC’s this is one of the things that I actually like about this place. And again the people are fun to be with, even the head guy is awesome as in he’s a full time funkie guy with the employees.

Since it’s Dubai and you’ll see alot of people around that belong to different parts of the world, it’s interesting to know some of them, and again some of is not so good, but overall it’s been a good experience.

Then my family back in Karachi has been missing me alot, much more than I m missing them, I know they love me more than I do, it’s kind of obvious ! My parents gave birth to me, and most creators love their creation. Mom and dad I love you.. and you my little sis ! One of my coolest friend is also probably missing me in Pakistan, yah it’s the one and only cool guy: Asim. miss you too man. oh and his bro’s here too. There’s two more important people I m missing.. M lady and uzey. Love both of you too… M lady, Love you alot !

Oh I just forgot, I m with babrus, one of the coolest folks I know, he’s a little down lately, I know some of the reasons, but I m not going to share them. also his uncle passed away yesterday, a moment of silence and prayers for him please.

This post is around 10 minutes before I leave house for the air port, though I’ve been thinking of writing a post for about days now, but sadly, the bad part is that I was either too lazy to do so, or I actually was busy doing something. So any how, I m about to be leaving for Dubai in around some time now.

Things have been great recently, specially the people around me, and the people who I know even for a short time. I would like to thank all these people for being so kind to me, these include Uzey, Fahd, Hassan, Najam, Omair, Furqan, Zair and all the people from my last working place, I would also like to show my middle finger to my best buddy Asim, because we hate saying thanks to each other, so the middle finger does the trick Love ya dude and there’s one more person I’d like to thank, the M Lady, I love her.

I’ve also been blessed with a good family who loves and prays from me all the time, thanks so much mom and dad and my sweet sis.

Oh and how can I forget, my last project TimeSvr, is live, I mean it was live before too, but the new design that I worked on is now online, you can check it out here.

It’s also the second day of Eid today, and honestly the first one went fine, I was actually watchign movies

Yes this is another random post, just today someone said I should tel people about the inflation in the prices, but hell they already know about it, it’s not somethign they hsould get to know from my blog.

After the release of the new version of my website, I’ve seen some good traffic, and also some good projects coming my way, some of which I had to turn down for a couple of reasons.. Please donot question what reasons.

There’s also some very funny stuff going on between me and Zair, haha I should laugh, it’s an internal joke, that I don’t want everyone to know, and oh since working about work, our asses at work are all jammed for now, so much work, so less time, well thats the nature of this work my friend, that how we roll.. and I m working on a project that’s quite a delicate subject, but very educating, I hope they get a positive and a balanced response.

And then my friends, some of them are crazy pissed at me, and yes I m aware of that, haven’t been able to see some of them in eternity damn. I hope to meet them soon.. And Babrus, the cool digitartist rockstar dude has flown to Dubai. WOW!

Yes, I know it’s been some time, since I appreciated life, but any ways, better late then never…

I m having some good times at work and otherwise, I m considering buying another .net address specially for the blog, interesting isn’t? I think it is !

And since work has been challenging at work, that’s one reason why it’s fun. There’s no fun without challenges. Though one thing that I found out, is that one of my friends has broken up with their former better halves , yes it’s sad, but also good for them, and the other sad part is that one of our managers at work, broke one of their fingers. ouch.

Then one of my friends has got another pair of fun lives, yes he’s got twin sisters. That’s nice.

Also, I’d like to thank Asim Imtiaz from my work place, for making my life a little easier with all the tech stuff.. check him out on his website. He’s one funky fella !
