It’s been a really long while since I wrote on my blog I think, was time I should update this baby of mine.

I’ve been in Karachi for about more than 2 months, and to tell you the truth I love it here more than I liked it there, sure I had drums and all, but this place is a blessing I tell you, for one I can enjoy Bar B Q’s till the morning instead of having to wrap it up by 11pm, that seriously sucked.

Anyways, I got my new Macbook sometime back and boy it’s awesome, it’s like super awesome, plus it looks even better with my magic mouse. My old Mac I handed to dad since he had fallen in love with this machine. So he’s finally getting on the internet you ask ? Internet.. he’s on Facebook, imagine that.. within a week… He was on PC for more than a year and hated it.. now he loves it and he’s metting up new people, it’s awesome.

I have also managed to escape a close iPhone snatching.. I swore at the guy.. how cool is that

Also I’ve been made a Founder at a deviantart group ‘dA-Pakistan‘ , if you’re an artist and are on Deviantart, you should definetely join us.. the crew involves Umar and Anam.. awesome people I tell you.

Coming back to the present times, I attended the blog awards yesterday, man it was awesome, even though I wasn’t feeling well, I decided I would go.. I had some suggestions on some of the topics being discussed, but I decided not to speak, again I wasn’t feeling well.. But I should’ve screamed about them. Pictures here.

I m in Karachi people. I’ve been here since the 19th of Feb’10. I apologize for not letting a lot of you know that, honestly I wanted to surprise :P

From the day I landed everything has been pretty energetic+super busy. Friday when I landed was the day I shocked my family, that was pretty neat I tell you

From then onwards things got pretty busy. We’re working on a new design for our main website www.xuqa.com, which is due out soon. The current design I think has taken away all the user experience, I plan to put that experience back in, so obviously alot of thought is being put into that.

But most of the problems+major improvements will come in once the new design is out.

Our Game Ventures office is officially open in Karachi now, and we have quite a team I tell you, for me a major addition is Arif Kamal, whose work I immensely admire.

On a personal level I’ve got some more work for myself, I m working on the new design of my blog, which is due for quite some time, and also another project which will be revealed in due time.

I also happen to meet alot of my dost, which was refreshing, had been wanting to catch up for quite some time, though one thing that I do miss are my drums. I miss those like anything, and offcourse the chocolate balls!

The rest is the usual.. getting into the Awesome Karachi spirit for a few months.

Good things and bad things happened just about the same time. boinkers..

The good first.. Paras Amir Ali Allana who I know through flickr and Raheel Lakhani was in town recently with here family.. And since she’s a friend how could I not show her around, even though I haven’t seen this place much.

We went to a couple of places, including The Toy Museum, a full ride of MRT line (though it wasn’t intentional), then it was for a 3d movie experience, I took them to see G Force, and then the bungee which was my favourite, and then to round it all up, we ate at Lao Pa Sat. It’s a matter of one’s taste but Paras’s sister didn’t quite like the food there, which obviously made me think I should’ve taken them to some other food place I guess, but anyhow.. the day was fun.

Some days later I find out, my website and blog is being marked bad by google. some malicious links had been reported.. I was like woahh.. hello… bring that thing down.. I looked up, checked properly, verified and then requested a review… which was pretty quick and my website status on google was restored ( ).

Anyhow, it’s about only 2 days to Eid, and some how it doens’t really feel like Eid, but I did make a Eid card to put online. You can leave a comment about it on this page, it’s facebook page or the deviantart page.

Also now that I have my fish eye lens, telephoto lens, wide angle and macro lens I think it’s alot fun to do photography.. Also I m going to attend the GCT in the morning…

Hello folks. I upgraded my wordpress installation last night to 2.7, which turns out to be super cool. Except that I like the top nav in wordpress better, but I think I m going to get used to this one super fast. Oh wait I already have

I really like the 2 click upgrade feature this has, and then the improved dasboard and customizable interface thats offered.

Oh the other hand, I’d also like to tell you people that a considerable part of the blog redesign is complete, I need to add/remove and fix a few things and then I m good to go. People who’ve had a sneak peak, tell me that the new design is nice, I personally think it’s gay haha !

Anyways, it’s the third day of eid here, and I m at office working. Dang !

It’s been quite some time when it was a visual upgrade for this blog, and it’s quite that time again that it gets a new coat of paint. I believe that even though everyone’s getting newer and faster internet connection, this blogs should load faster and smoother than it does now, so I’ve decided that when the new version launches these things are taken care of.

A few things that were also on my mind if that there should be no sidebar, and the main focus should be the blog, though technically there will be a sidebar, but visually you might not consider it one, which is quite my objective.

I’ve also taken care that things do not cut of like they mostly do when you open a single blog post, specially if there are no comments. I m also going to focus on one single blog post on the main page, so that only the most recent comes to you first, and if you choose you can browse for older written stuff as and when you wish for it.

I’ve pretty much completed the design and it’s like a 100% change from what it looks like right now.

Let’s hope it goes around well, and works on all browsers, Amen.

Incase you’re going to question the random map on the above image, that is the percentage of poverty in the world right now, as can be shown on the left.

As for the issue of poverty in general. We usually take things for granted, think about our own problems and consider them very big, take a look at the corporate mess for example, you’ll see everyone wants a piece of a pie, but no one wants to pay for it. It’s a normal yet not normal way of thinking.

Take a look at the nature, we’ve eaten it up, without thining about the consequences, we are the selfish beings we thought we are not. yet we stand at a global problem, where food and resources are getting scarce ay by day, and not so slowly humans are dying of hunger, and rot on the land.

What would you say ? If you were one of them ? I honestly wouldn’t say much, because not many would listen, regardless how hard I screamed for help, only a few gifted people on the planet actually take the iniitative to help others.

On this day, I would like to use this oppurtunity to urge people that please for god sake consider what we do, and act, and how we waste the resoueces, we could instead send that to those who need it most. The medicines, food supplies, clothing and what not. We know many people don’t live in a house, simply because they cannot afford it, so they live directly under the sun and the moon. Without shelter, few pieces of cloth, no food and very little drinkable water, the life of one becomes very pathetic. So please, please think about how we can help those who need our support the most. This world is our mother, and the humans are it’s children, that makes the poor our rothers and sisters, and humans look after each other, specially the loved ones, it’s time that we help our brothers and sisters who need us.

Recently, my website and blog both had been facing downtime, and it wasn’t due to some tech issue, it was actually my negligence, yes I was the one to blame..

I had received a couple of emails of notifications that my domain will soon expire if I do not renew it at the earliest, and I was way caught up with work right those times, so finally my buddy Hassaan comes online, “Your blog ain’t F**KIN workin !”  and I m like, what the hell how can that be.. I rush to my inbox and check the expiry dates.. Voila there you have it, the domain expired, and it’s going to be just a month before my hosting expires too.. I visit the bank early morning to pay for the hosting and email the receipt to the hosting asking them to renew my account/domain.. phew… I m back online.

Anyhow, one lesson learned, I should blog more to know my blog ain’t opening.. or is opening happily !

What else you may ask right ? I’ve been going out now a days and staying and spending some time out of my room, to get a good amount of freshness back into my life.. I needed a break I m getting one.. which is good. I was near the sea yesterday morning, and it was fun. Then some working bits dropped on my head, so I had to deal with that work. I m done with it too..

I think I should do something else right now… Bad way to end a post.. I know..

The good things first..

My blog was listed in the 100 inspirational blog designs, which got me do a little wowing

Also, it’s was also the 5th birthday of WordPress… YAAAY !

Ok, so thats about the end of todays good part

As I said it’s been a random day, total random day ! I hadn’t really slept well then again, when do I ever ?, any how, I hadn’t slept well, and then this shit load of work, well it wasn’t that much, but since i was way sleepy, it seemed like it, but I completed it, which is a little achievement for my inner brat And oh boy, alot of systems at our work place got infected with some crappy chinese virus haha !

But most of the systems are now clean, and those that had the issues weren’t major machines, except a couple of them, which means we probably will get a dedicated server for the design team soon, hopefully. Thank goodness my computer was still safe, otherwise things would have been much more bizarre, in the wrong direction.

We also had a little design team meeting today, which was god, and nice one, and guess what, I’ll be leading the next one, not really a very interesting thing really, specially since I m going to be doing it, not much is going to come out of it

Oh and boy, I got late coming home too, missed my office van, and took ages to grab a cab, and then the long route..Woah.. nevermind.
